Mike is a Christian who felt called to go to El Salvador where he began investing into the community around him. When Covid caused his friends to struggle, he realized that Bitcoin could allow his community to get another shot at thriving.

In addition to creating a circular economy, Bitcoin Beach (which had previously been a community with a kids surfing ministry) sparked the idea for Mi Primer Bitcoin. This curriculum taught students basic economics and financial skills that they could use in order to start their own businesses or enter into the workforce more informed.

But what about communities that face more potently abusive and controlling governments? How might we be able to support missionaries and their communities in those environments? While not a Christian, Raya did just that.
